Modular Solution Description:
The modular UPS adopts the standard structure design, each set of system consists of the power module, monitor module and static switch. Its power module can be in parallel to share the loads equally. If the fault occurs it can quit out the system automatically the rest of power modules can undertake the loads. It not only can expand flatly but also can expand vertically. The particular redundant parallel operation technology can make the devices without the non single point fault to ensure the highest usability of power supply. So it can achieve the hot-plug for all of modules and replace/maintain them online, it is the safest power supply protection solution.              
The solution is composed of the host machine of modular UPS, intelligentized power distribution system and battery units.  
Host Machine of Modular UPS:
The modular UPS power module adopts the double transform online structure that includes of the rectifier, inverter, charger, control circuit and alphabetic input/output battery circuit breaker. It has the input power factor compensation function. All of the modules can be hot-plug online which can provide the high level of usability and maintainability.         
The control module of host machine of modular UPS adopts the industrial can bus control structure which can complete the control and management for the system by two redundant hot-plug control modules. One control module is on the failure that would not affect the normal operation of system, the control module can hot plug and replace online. The parallel connection of power module can intensively be managed by the control module, it can operate by the uniform parallel operation parameters. One power module is on the failure which can automatically quit out from the parallel connection system that wouldn’t make the damage for the whole parallel connection system.          
The system of modular UPS adopts the independent static bypass module it doesn’t adopt the multi-static bypass structure which can avoid that when it is on the bypass the multi-bypass is not mean of current to make the overload damage. The precision of output voltage of parallel connection module is ±1%, the circumfluence of parallel operation is <1%.        
The standard SNMP card adopts the HTTP, SNMP and TELNET protocol etc. it can understand the operation situations fully at one glance for the main power status, battery status, bypass status, inverter status, self-testing status, start-up status, input voltage, output voltage, loads of percentage, input frequency, battery voltage, battery capacity, time of battery discharge, internal temperature of UPS, surrounding environmental temperature and so on. It can improve the management efficiency and management quality for the protection system of UPS.
It can run on the windowsNT/ windows2000/windowsXP/windows2003 operation system platform.                 
There is the optional temperature sensor with the multi-function network card which can achieve the temperature monitoring and warning for the environment of computer rooms through the internet.   
Intelligentized Power Distribution System
This system is the all-in-one power distribution integrated system for the input and output of UPS to be used with the host machine of UPS that includes input switch, output switch, maintenance bypass switch and total input switch. All the master switches configure with the assistant contact point which internally has the current sensing system to communicate with the host machine of UPS.     
This power distribution system part consists of the branch output power distribution module, monitor module and isolation transformer. Every power distribution module of output power distribution unit configures with the 18 output branches, the current of each branch can be set from 6A-32A according to the requirement, it can adjust the three-phase balance which is based on the configuration and change of on-site loads, the power distribution system can maximumly install 6 plug and play type power distribution modules, the quantity of power distribution module can be chosen.
The power distribution system and host machine of UPS have the same size shape and same color. The standard configurations are: LCD, UPS maintenance bypass board (including total input switch, UPS input switch, output switch, maintenance bypass switch, assistant contact point switch), testing circuit main board, voltage of three-phase input/output, current sensor components, current in middle wire, ground current sensor and external EPO signal interface. 
There are the optional input K value isolation transformer and branch current monitor.   
This power distribution system can configure with the network card which can monitor the parameters, status and historical events of power distribution cabinet. The users can monitor the input/output three-phase voltage, current, frequency, current in middle wire, current in ground wire, KVA number of each phase, KW number, power factor, branch current and so on. It can set the limit value of current high or low voltage warning.
External Battery and Battery Cabinet
The battery adopts the maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery, according to the requirement, the capacity of battery can be set by it. The battery is installed in the battery cabinet which its brand, shape and color is as same as the host machine of UPS.   
Reliability Analysis of Modular Single UPS
How to evaluate the executing duty reliability of UPS system, it not only has to consider the MTBF of UPS but also the MTTR of UPS and MTBF of main power. When the UPS is on the failure at the same time the main power also is broken down, the loads will lost the power that means the UPS key duty is loss. The loads are not on the protection of main power their time depends on the time of maintenance. If maintaining one UPS needs one week and the MTBF is also one week when the UPS is on the failure the loads will possibly lost the power. If the MTTR of UPS is one hour the MTBF of main power would not greatly affect the failure probability of key loads. It is apparently to reduce the MTTR of UPS that will decrease the failure probability of key loads, so the best way of reducing the MTTR of UPS that decreases the factors which can affect the maintenance of UPS as much as possible. Because the dual bus modular (N+X) has the hot plug-in function it is the best choice for the users.
From the view of design principle, the whole system which takes the power supplying mission must adopt the high “fault-tolerance” function of redundant power supplying program to ensure that when the electrical power network or any modules (including the system control modules) are on the failure and daily maintenance testing operations or the switch of breaker is off which is caused by the blown fuse the power supply of inverter of online UPS will supply the power for the devices of internet. It should not be on the AC bypass of UPS which the power is supplied by the standby electric generating set.  
As stated above, the dual bus modular (N+X) UPS which has the longest mean time to failure (λmission), minimum mean time to restoration (MTTR), most powerful anti-interference ability and high “fault-tolerance” function should use this set of program system to get the stable, high efficient, safe 24 hours UPS power support, it is the apotheosis of the most professional computer room power system and the most reliable power protection.
