UPS power supply is a precision instrument, How to operate and maintain ups accurately?

The following points we should follow when using UPS power:

(1)When using the UPS power supply, the relevant provisions of the manufacturer’s product manual should be strictly followed to ensure that the live wire and neutral wire sequence of the mains connected to the UPS meets the requirements.

(2)The main purpose of UPS is to prevent the computer from losing information and destroying the hard disk due to sudden power failure, but some devices are not afraid of sudden power failure when working (such as printers, etc.). In order to save the energy of the UPS, the printer can consider connecting directly to the utility power without going through the UPS. If it is a network system, consider that the UPS only supplies power to the host (or server) and its related parts. This ensures that the UPS can be used on the most critical equipment while saving investment.

(3)Do not overload the UPS. The maximum load of UPS power should be 80% of its nominal load (such as 1000w UPS, match the load according to 80% load rate, ie 800W: 1000VA UPS converts 80% to 800W and then presses 80% load rate, that is, 640W to match the load). If overloaded, in the inverter state, it will often cause the breakdown of the inverter triode. In addition, when using the UPS, it is strictly forbidden to connect inductive loads such as fluorescent lamps, but only pure electric or small capacitive loads.

(4)Pay attention to the sequence of switching on and off the machine: turn on the UPS first, and then turn on the power switch of the load later (preferably with a delay of 1-2 minutes to allow the UPS to fully enter the working state), and then turn on the power switch of the load. To turn on one by one: the sequence of shutdown is just the opposite, first turn off the power switch of the load one by one, and then turn off the UPS. The UPS needs to be on for a long time, while the computer and other loads are only turned on each time they are used. After use, just turn off the power switch of the computer and other loads.

(5)Do not turn off and on the UPS power frequently. It is generally required to wait at least 6 seconds before turning on the UPS power after turning off the UPS power. Otherwise, the UPS power may be in a state of “failed to start”, that is, the UPS power supply is in a state of neither mains output nor inverter output. abnormal state.

(6) The power in the battery in the UPS may be exhausted or nearly exhausted for some reason. In order to compensate for battery energy and improve battery life, the UPS should be charged in time and for a longer period of time (usually not less than 48 hours, with or without load) to avoid failure due to battery failure. Newly purchased or stored UPS should be charged for 12 hours before use. For long-term storage of unused UPS, charge it for 12 hours every 3 months. If it is in a high temperature area, charge it every 2 months. Using the UPS without charging will damage the battery.
